Decisions, decisions
Sunday Jun 18, 2023
Sunday Jun 18, 2023
When we yield to God's will and take the steps He desires, events do not always unfold the way we expect. We might find ourselves on his ordained path wondering why things have turned out how the have. We might even question whether, given the choice again, we would make the same decision. If we know that we have followed his path, and that his will is perfect and for our good, then we should be confident in what we have decided.

Sunday May 21, 2023
Sunday May 21, 2023
Although God's forgiveness is full and final, it does not mean that the consequences of our sins are taken away. When his correction is difficult or painful, let us remember that it is rooted in God's love for our good.

Sunday May 14, 2023
Sunday May 14, 2023
Just because it is "old", it does not mean that it is over. Many prophecies in the Old Testament have yet to come to pass, and we live in the shadow of those promises. Perhaps we should use these prophecies as opportunities to pray for God's promises to be fulfilled for his people, that salvation would come to Israel and Judah once and for all.

Sunday May 07, 2023
We have seen proud or self-centered people fall far in this life. We also have seen similar people seem to coast through life and end on a high note. Yet, the word of God tells us that every proud and haughty person will be brought down. This is still the case regardless of what we see in people's lives, and there is a foundational truth that requires it.

Sunday Apr 30, 2023
Sunday Apr 30, 2023
It is critical for us to discern whether the shepherds who lead us here on Earth lead us in Spirit and in truth. We can look at the example of our good shepherd as our measuring rod. Those who are led by him will lead like him.

Follow not your heart
Sunday Apr 23, 2023
Sunday Apr 23, 2023
There is a way that seems right to man but only leads to death. Many will live their lives making decisions based on emotions and the whims of their hearts. They do not accept that our hearts are inherently wicked to the point of deceiving even ourselves. Let us live with more wisdom, following not our own desires but the commands and desires of the Lord, not yielding to the sin that remains within us.

Especially today, continue to speak the truth with courage
Sunday Apr 16, 2023
Sunday Apr 16, 2023
I remember a professor of mine who hated when her students answered questions sheepishly. She wanted us to speak our answers boldly and with confidence, sure in what we were saying. That is how God wants us to represent him. When it becomes difficult to speak up for God, He will give us the courage to proclaim his truth proudly and with confidence.
